Concept statement(revised)

1.     What is the system name?

Hansel and Gretel (New type of SNS app)

2.     Who are the system users?

The users who want to share their thoughts and need consolation from others.

3.     What will the system do?

Basically the idea of Hansel and Gretel is same as SNS. But the physical movements (sensed by GPS) are added. Every person who operates this app will get a loaf of bread which is going to be left on the ground (it will be shown on the screen through augmented reality) where the users were texting and register the text. And the amount of bread indicates the length of the text users can write. Thus the mechanism is like following.

1.     Someone text about his or her daily story. (e.g. about irritating boss at work, the restaurant with poor service, stressful school life and so forth) = the amount of bread reduces as the text is getting longer.

2.     As soon as the user registers the story, the written text will be left on the ground as a visual form of bread. The path will be created as the user keeps writing his or her story. (The other people would easily find the path where the writer is heading.)

3.     As the bread is running out, the user cannot create any other notes. So, they have to pick other people’ notes which are seen as crumbs. To get it as an own bread, users have to reply on the picked note.

By this mechanism, people can get to interact with others by force or by user’s own intention.

4.     What problem will the system solve? (including business objectives)

It will create people to communicate not broadly with anyone in online but on the way to their work or home, which means that the realm of communication will be limited. In contemporary society, people don’t even know who is living next door. This app will make people hear and see what others think and where they are going. It also could help people from heavy-work stress get consolation from others near them.

5.     What is the design vision and what are the emotional impact goals? What experience will the system provide to the user?

The emotion the user might get and I want them to get is that relief or consolation from others. Also, the information of that region could be shared since the app is going to be only used on the certain outside place.
